The opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) now wants the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to make public the names of the 11,155 polling stations that are not covered by 3G and 4G mobile networks.
This follows an announcement by the poll body on Saturday, August 5 that 27% of the polling stations countrywide are out of the required network coverage, directing affected presiding officers to move to areas with network to be able to electronically transmit the presidential results in the Tuesday polls.
NASA now says that it reads mischief in the announcement considering elections are in a day’s time. The opposition coalition led by its Chief Agent, Musalia Mudavadi, says that the number of polling stations is too big and could be a plot to undermine democracy and the will of the people.
